Help Needed

 Good afternoon,

The Reid Health Iron Man on June 4 is in need of our help.
Jim Scott is arranged this event over the last few years. Please email him at kb9sjz@comcast.net
We need people from 530 am until early afternoon.
We will be manning communications at water stations.  You will need the ability to operate on 2 meters. (Frequency to be determined).
We can also work in teams if you are not able to work the whole shift, we can schedule someone to come in later to cover the position.
I have always enjoyed the day.
Thanks for you considerations,
Jeff Norris

IMPORTANT: Changes to Sunday night NET

 Greetings Club Members,

Due to the extreme wind conditions yesterday, the antenna on the 147.270 repeater appears to have been damaged and is currently deactivated.  We will discuss ideas on how to get the repeater back online at our next club meeting on 4/12.
In the meantime, Sunday NET will be held on the KB9SJZ repeater at the usual 8PM.  Details follow:
147.180+    (standard .6 offset)   PL Tone 82.5

Please program this repeater ahead of time so you will be ready to check in to the net at 8PM.
Again, it is very important to make sure you have set the correct TONE, otherwise you will not be able to access the repeater.
We look forward to hearing you on the air!  Please pass this info along to anyone who may wish to check in to the NET.
You are welcome to leave comments below if you are registered on the website.

Visit our Facebook event page for further information:  https://www.facebook.com/events/804684276325611/

Please join us for a very informative evening being instructed by meteorologists from the Wilmington, Ohio National Weather Service.  Have you wondered what the difference is between a funnel cloud and a wall cloud?  How does hail form?  Or how watches and warnings are issued?  During this 90 minute training, you will learn basic weather principles, how weather radars works, how to report severe weather events, and much more.

As we all know, severe weather knows no jurisdictional boundaries, county borders, or state lines.  We feel this is an important training event for not only first responders in our communities, but also for the general public.  Therefore anyone and everyone are welcome to attend our training, even if you’re not a resident in one of the sponsoring counties.  This is truly open to all of our friends and neighbors.

For more information, contact one of the sponsoring Emergency Management Agencies:

 Fayette County:  (765) 825-9422

Union County:  (765) 458-0505
