National Weather Service Basic Weather Spotter Training

 On behalf of Fayette County Emergency Management, Union County Emergency Management, Wayne County Emergency Management, and Wayne County Skywarn, we would like to invite you to attend our annual National Weather Service Basic Weather Spotter Training.

When:  Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at 6:30pm

Where:  Wayne County Administration Building, 401 E. Main Street, Richmond, IN

                (parking is available in the south parking lot)

 Please join us for a very informative evening being instructed by meteorologists from the Wilmington, Ohio National Weather Service.  Have you wondered what the difference is between a funnel cloud and a wall cloud?  How does hail form?  Or how watches and warnings are issued?  During this 90 minute training, you will learn basic weather principles, how weather radars works, how to report severe weather events, and much more.

 As we all know, severe weather knows no jurisdictional boundaries, county borders, or state lines.  We feel this is an important training event for not only first responders in our communities, but also for the general public.  Therefore anyone and everyone are welcome to attend our training, even if you’re not a resident in one of the sponsoring counties.  This is truly open to all of our friends and neighbors.
